The Nolans are one of the most successful girl groups of all time in the UK chart history. CHEMISTRY: THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION covers their most commercially successful period and offers a look at the more soulful side of the group than previous compilations.
Live at Wembley July 16, 1988 is a live concert DVD by Michael Jackson released on September 18, 2012. This is the third tour by Jackson to be released on a home format (the first two being the first leg performance of the DVD "Live in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour" and the VHS "HIStory World Tour: Live in Seoul"). The recording is a performance of the Bad world tour, performing songs from the album "Bad".
The Ultimate Collection is a new Donna Summer collection that brings together 20 classic tracks from 1968 onwards, including the hits, Macarthur Park, This Time I Know It’s For Real, Love To Love You Baby, , Dinner With Gershwin and I Feel Love…
Musical Massage is very similar to Marvin Gaye’s I Want You, not even incidentally: Leon Ware had just produced Gaye’s album, and a lot of the material from his own record went there. So you can expect a similar ‘‘musical massage’’ of the erotic type as I Want You. With glorious featuring as Minnie Ripperton, Bobby Womack, Ray Parker Jr. or Marvin Gaye himself…this album is just wonderful!
THIS 10” VINYL RELEASE COMES IN TIME FOR THE 45TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE WHAT’S GOING ON ALBUM (MAY 21ST 2016) AND FEATURES THE ORIGINAL 7” SINGLE VERSIONS OF “WHAT’S GOING ON” AND “GOD IS LOVE”, AS WELL AS A “MOTOWN RE-IMAGINED” DUET VERSION FEATURING BJ THE CHICAGO KID, PLUS AN UNPLUGGED “COFFEEHOUSE” MIX. *Release-date: 26th of June 2016
The Average White Band, a group of Scotsmen playing American soul and funk music, came together in the late Sixties and topped the US chart in 1974. A version of the band led by bassist Alan Gorrie tours to this day while guitarist Hamish Stewart went on to be Paul McCartney’s musical right hand man. This hour-long TV showcase from the Rockstage series, filmed by Central Television at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal in 1980, catches the classic AWB line-up in their prime. It includes that years UK Number 12 dance smash ‘Let’s Go Round Again’, album title track ‘Atlantic Avenue’, transatlantic hit ‘Queen Of My Soul’ and much more.
Not as arresting as two previous albums. It only produced one bonafide hit, "Good Lovin' Ain't Easy to Come By," while the others spawned three each. Tammi became ill before this record was completed, and Valerie Simpson had to perform many of the tracks. Simpson is a good singer but doesn't have the charm, charisma, or sexy Southern drawl that Tammi was blessed with. A remake of Terrell's solo outing "I Can't Believe You Love Me" adds nothing to the original; likewise for lackluster renditions of "California Soul," "I'm Your Puppet," and "Baby, I Need Your Loving." "The Onion Song" has to be Ashford and Simpson's silliest composition despite its positive social message. Along with the hit, the best songs here are "This Poor Heart of Mine," an uptempo number and good workout for the duo, and "Love Woke Me Up This Morning," an endearing exercise in romanticism. Fans weren't awestruck by this release, its highest rating was #184 on Billboard's pop album chart.*Release-date: 12-2-2016
This edition of Michael Jackson's revolutionary 1979 recording Off The Wall includes the original album bundled with the new documentary Michael Jackson s Journey from Motown to Off the Wall, directed by Spike Lee. The deluxe softpak includes a 16-page booklet containing a new essay and photography plus a piece of chalk and inside panels with a chalkboard finish. The importance of Michael Jackson's Off the Wall cannot be overstated. Recorded when he was just 20-years-old, the album heralded Michael's emancipation as a singular musical force and creative visionary. It's the record that "invented modern pop as we know it" according to Rolling Stone magazine. It smashed the ceiling on record sales for black artists, ushering in an exciting new era of R&B-to-pop crossover airplay, chart, marketing and sales trends not seen before in modern pop music. Written by Michael Jackson, the first single from Off The Wall, "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough," was Michael's first Grammy and first single to hit No. 1 in the U.S. and internationally as a solo artist. With the singles Rock With You," "Off the Wall" and "She s Out of My Life," Jackson became the first solo artist in history to have four singles from the same album peak inside the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.*Release-date: 26th of February 2016
